Poem – Wallflowers

Quiet little one

Invisible wallflower

Nobody sees you standing there

No matter how loud

You raise your precious voice

No matter how much you show

That you care

There isn’t any sound

You aren’t being heard

Acknowledge

Noticed

Seen

Wave your arms high, dear wallflower

Someone will see you standing there

When the voices die down

And the noise, the sights

Refuse to hide you

You won’t fall further away

Stand on the soapbox

Dear wallflower

Someone will listen

Someone will not walk away

They will not leave you

Someone will see you standing there
